a commissioned encaustic artwork becomes a creative collaboration between us.
Where We Begin
We begin with a conversation—a chance for me to discover what you have in mind and, more importantly, the feeling you want the artwork to evoke.
My work explores the Elemental Still Point—the meeting place of energy and stillness, where boundaries dissolve and presence emerges. Working in encaustic, I draw from the natural world and from the qualities of earth, water, light, atmosphere, and time.
Referencing artworks of mine that resonate with you is especially helpful. It gives me a sense of your aesthetic and helps us discover the direction your commission may take.
Together, we consider composition and scale, color and texture, natural light, and the artwork’s relationship to its intended space. Your vision becomes part of the beginning, while I bring my experience, intuition, and creative process to the work.
Once we begin, I allow the painting to evolve. Working with beeswax, earth pigments, damar resin, and fire, I build, fuse, excavate, and refine the surface through an intuitive process of discovery. This creative freedom is essential to my practice—and often where the unexpected beauty of a commission emerges.
Investment
A 50% deposit begins the commission and reserves its place within my studio schedule. An additional 20% fee is added to the commission price, reflecting the highly personal nature of creating a work specifically for you—from the initial concept through the dedicated time, materials, and studio process required to bring it into being.
The remaining balance is due upon completion. Shipping is separate, and I work with trusted shipping partners to help make the process as seamless as possible.
For commissions created for a specific interior or design project, I work collaboratively with the client and design team to consider scale, placement, palette, light, and the overall relationship between the artwork and the space.

The result is not simply artwork made for a particular space. It is a work created through a shared beginning and shaped through the distinctive language of my practice.
