Where We Begin

We begin with a conversation where I discover what you have in mind and what feeling you wish to evoke. My work can be described as both abstract and impressionistic with a nod toward Nature — water in motion, lay of the land, and the atmospheric sea and sky. Referencing what appeals to you in my previous artworks is very helpful in understanding your style and aesthetic and guiding me along the spectrum of abstract or more representational impressionism.

Together, we create a concept built on composition and size, color palette and textural elements, and the natural light and placement in your space. With your input, and most importantly, allowing me the creative freedom for the painting to evolve, we begin.

The Investment

I request the industry standard deposit of 50%. I ask for a 20% commission fee that allows me to commit your painting to my workflow, gather the special materials required, and repurpose my studio just for your painting; while always keeping my desire to remove the financial obstacles that may stand in the way of your owning one of my paintings.

The final payment is due when it is complete. Shipping rates are separate, however, with my shipping partners I do my best to help where I can.
